And I’m going on the road to visit the new nephew!!!  So I’ll be checking in once in awhile, but not gonna promise anything. However, I’m traveling with my latest necklace creations (all the ones available on Etsy right now) so I’ll still be able to ship asap!

Latest creation tonight: the celtic heart knot – done with wire and pearls!  Not quite as cool looking as I’d hoped it be, but still heart-ish and maybe next time I can add more beads as I go. This sucker was HARD!

I dunno, the more I look at it, the more I like it as is. Yes?

This one will probably be stolen by a little sister, so I better not put it up for sale just yet. Maybe I can make mini-hearts to be earrings too? That would be pretty awesome if I could pull that off! Don’t hold your breath!

Design is “Heart”     Fitting. I know.

I made this one thinking of wearing it with the classic LBD, sadly I don’t really have a little black dress that’s my go-to yet…someday!

A little difficult to see the black beads, left one is teardrop shaped, faceted. Right one is a smooth sphere.  Of course if you wore it the other way, they’d be on opposite sides…gosh I’m a nerd!

The quality of these pictures is appalling! Anyone have any tips to share? Good self-tutorials? Even a blog with good info?  *sigh* I’m so lost!  I really feel like the look of the jewelry is completely lost because of my photographic skills!

Another pretty necklace…running out of some supplies, so no earrings on these ones…but that means a small discount too!  :)

I think this one’s kinda floral. Yes?

The upper middle bead is an olive green.

I am SO on a role!  How, I have no idea because my 3-year-old is SO DONE with being cooped up inside! But he is letting me get a few minutes here and there!

I made this one while thinking of my Grandma, who loves anything purple!

The glass beads in the earrings are a purple tint.  (I REALLY need to take a photography class!)  And the glass has some imperfections in it, but I really liked the rough look it gave next to the elegant pearls. Which is why I left the “perfect” glass beads in the box. Sometimes our imperfections make us beautiful!

I’m really loving this design!  Come to think of it, you could even swap out the purple pendant for a different one or just leave it off for a different look.

I’m LOVING the new beads my husband helped me pick out!  (And since my son is (kinda) cooperative today, I got 2 necklaces made at naptime! Yeah!

Silver plated nylon beading wire, teal glass beads, and fake pearls (I wish they could be real!  But until I know someone would pay for real pearls and such being mixed into these necklaces, it’s as cheap as my high-quality standards will let me go!)

And of course, matching earrings!

Okay, I finally am getting back into the swing of things since Christmas!  It really is hard this year…there will be another interruption, I’m sure, when I finally get to go see my new nephew but that will be a welcome disruption!

Yesterday the family decided to take a trip to Sioux City for some major groceries (good ol’ Sam’s Club) and a few other shopping things, amongst which was…new beads!  Yay!

Anyone who knows me (or has seen my Cinnamon Red Kitchen Aid) knows I’m a sucker for the darker shades of red so of course that was what I had to create first!

I think my biggest problem with creating jewelry is that I want to keep it all for myself! But I made this one with the intent of selling it and that’s what I’m going to do. I think. No, I will. I will.

This wire is a bit stiffer than my other pieces but it’s kinda nice, holds its shape really well and super sturdy. I wouldn’t guarantee this, because I know my son, but I have a feeling it’s one that even he couldn’t destroy!  Well…he probably could. He can destroy anything. But it would take him some effort at least!

Since the necklace is pretty detailed, I kept the earrings very simple, the loops spin but always settle with the beads at the bottom (you know, gravity and all) but it gives it some good movement so they’re not quite so stiff

Dolly had her baby boy!  The whole family is doing well and is getting settled at home now :)

My son (Logan) and I were supposed to be traveling to Colorado to spend some time with them and meet the new little guy…but Logan woke up with a cough, sore throat, and tummyache the day we were supposed to leave. So…we’re still in South Dakota, waiting for him to get better so we can go see the baby!  (Oh and we’ll get to see Mom and Dad too…ever notice that when you become a parent you’re no longer important?  lol, true in this house too!)

But man am I missing them and my baby fever that’s been getting warmer lately is on fire now that there’s a squirming baby I can go hold and smell and cuddle!  So to try to work some of my antsy-ness off…I made another big receiving blanket.

The best part of this one is that I didn’t make it six months ago! So it has his birthdate on it too!

And btw, making baby items makes baby fever worse not better!

Cost varies depending on fabric but this one was $9.50 ($7 materials, 15 minutes)

I’ve been SO out of it after Christmas!  It was great to relax and hang out with family and eat whenever or skip eating or eat out. Ugh!  Now I’ve been living in the real world again for awhile but my body still wants to be on vacation. I’m so lethargic and just don’t care that dishes didn’t get done. Don’t care what’s for dinner…so why cook?  Anyways! Enough is enough! I’ve been lazy and yesterday I decided to get off my butt and do something about it!  So I cleaned house – a much needed endeavor! -  and rearranged furniture! Always makes me feel a bit better!

Over the Christmas season I made a few necklaces to give to friends and one for a white-elephant gift exchange (my own silly sister (who could make one herself) fought tooth-and-nail to get it.)  And I made one specifically for a silent auction my husband’s National Guard unit was having during their Christmas party. And if it weren’t for my husband upping the bids, it would have gone for $2!!!  (As it was it went for $4……back to my house!)  Kinda discouraging, but I know that the style is not for everybody and a bunch of army soldiers is probably not a great demographic to aim for!  Nonetheless, it wasn’t really something that made me run to my computer to scream to the world! But this is about successes and failures, so I’m sharing.

But today we had a friend stop by with her 6-month-old daughter (who is adorable btw!) and I decided to make her a necklace and earring set as a late Christmas gift, or maybe it would more accurately be an “I miss you gift.”

We’ve been trying to come up with a Logo and overall look for our site. So these are the cards I’ve made up (for now).

I really wish I were a better photographer!!!  here’s a shot without the flash.
